Lesley believes that sound nutrition is the foundation for optimum health. It was after feeling the improvement that nutritional intervention made to her own health problems that she decided to move from her engineering career to study this fascinating subject in order that she could help others feel the benefits for themselves.
Many conditions can respond well to a nutritional therapy approach and Lesley has worked with individuals with various health issues including: digestive complaints, energy problems, joint aches and pains, low mood, weight concerns, and immune problems. Others might feel that their current dietary habits could do with an overhaul but do not know where to begin. During a consultation Lesley will cover the principles of a balanced diet to help individuals discover what foods can best work for them.
Lesley aims to provide suitable information and realistic recommendations in order that you are able to make informed decisions about your own healthcare. She believes that an integrated approach to healthcare can be the most beneficial for the individual and will occasionally recommend other therapies that may help.
Lesley has been practising at Exeter Natural Health Centre since 2009. She has Diplomas in Nutritional Advice, Nutritional Therapeutics, and Naturopathic Nutritional Therapy; including supervised Clinical Practice. She is a Full Member of the British Association of Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy (BANT, www.bant.org.uk); the professional body for nutritional therapists, and a Council Member of the Naturopathic Nutrition Association (NNA, www.nna-uk.com); the professional association for nutritional therapists who practise in accordance with naturopathic principles.
